Ben sings at the pub. Awesome.

Ben and I wondered over to the RE after the Good Food and Wine Festival to have a nice little beery session like in the bad old days... and we were listening to our old mate on the guitar - he has been playing there for about 15 years - and then Ben joined in a little. He is very good, and I think once he learns the words he will be even better.

Monkey :-)

I have just realised exactly HOW busy this year was - and this is evident in my lack of blog-vid posts. I will try to gather some together from over 2011 and put them up now that I am officially on leave from QUT :-) This one I took today in the back yard. It is three circus tricks by Annie-Rose X

Finders, Keepers, Losers, Weepers ;-)

This is us at the Finders Keepers Markets, which have recently moved to Brissy - they were originally quite strictly a Sydney-only concept. The markets were good and pretty, but mighty pricey.

We ended up watching this guy belting out the tunes, and this is him covering Nirvana's Where Did You Sleep Last Night. Ben and I love this song and I like the Brechtian effect of this whining tragedy being poured out against the backdrop of the kids playing with a puppy. You thesbians out there will appreciate what I am saying. ;-)

Don't have a cow, man!

We were staying at Mt Tamborine and while there, had the leisure and pleasure of discussing the relative merits of feeding cows, eating cows, being outdoors, and being inside drinking wine, and this is a summary of my verdict on these matters ;-)

Annie reading her first 'chapter book'

The book is called Saving Moonbeam, and it is about a girl losing her horse, and then finding another that needs taking care of. X

Charlotte's new gadget!

We agreed a long time ago that Charlotte could get a sewing machine for her 12th birthday... what we couldn't believe was how soon that date came around. So, true to our word we delivered her an awesome Brother Sewing Machine. She wasted no time in getting in there... and has made two skirts already.

I really want a turn, but I don't think she is going to get off there any time soon :-) Probably a good thing, as I had to cheat and get some poor student to thread my bobbin for me in Grade Eight so that I could pass Home Ec. Not my forte, but I am still willing to try again!

Boogie Blues in Super Hero Costume...

Saturday night at home, and Ollie and Annie are rocking out to Michael Jackson hits on their Ipod Docking Station, and Charlotte is dressed up as some kind of Wonder Woman and is playing blues on the piano. We had a wonderful steak and potato dinner on the deck, which Ben treated us to. It is still hot - the last bit of Summer still hanging in there, and even the evenings are still very humid. We are off to Mooloolaba tomorrow for Charlotte's 12th birthday bash :-)

Jesse and James having a play and a rest XX

Storm Bird or Channel Billed Cuckoo is back!

A little fella like this was in our area and around our yard a few years back. I will have to check the blog to remember exactly how long ago that was. We now have another young bird who has two confused crow step parents running around him, as his egg was laid in their nest. He is bigger than them, and they are struggling to keep up with his demands!

Toowong's Perrin Park Floods in Jan 11th '11 QLD floods

Ain't nothing like a QLD Summer....

Well, usually this song holds true and is and relevant to the nature of a QLD Summer...

Queensland Summer

But not this year. It has rained for around two months straight and now we are flooding.

We are at home watching the rain and waiting to see how bad it gets.
